This second installation was an extension of the thought process in its first installment, but I wanted to navigate clay’s characteristics and apply a personal narrative to it. The form was made to mimic the length of an average person’s height and intended to evoke the presence / absence of a body. Historically man-made mounds have a commemorative function. As my thesis project, I wanted this installation to capture the emotional and conceptual struggles that had made up my time pursuing my BFA. The intensely physical building requirements of this installation, allowed me to mourn, work through and put to rest those years of my life.
